Heart Risks

Published by tinasam at 9:55 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I’ve been reading a lot about heart conditions, heart disease, and the risk that an individual may have. They listed several different things that can put you at risk for heart disease and was simple and direct about it. They had as risk factors things like being sedentary, overweight, smoking, family history, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. The article went on to rate these in order of low risk, medium risk, and high risk.

The low risk group were those that didn’t have any, the medium risk groups are those that may have one or two, and the high risk ones were those that had a family history and diabetes. Now I was able to check off three of the risks (sedentary, family history, high cholesterol). I’m starting to realise that even though I’ve not had heart issues in the past that I do need to go and get a stress test and see whats going on with my body.

Now if you see some of those risk factors in yourself or a loved one, start a conversation. Get involved and get the conversation out there and talking. Don’t wait til it is too late. I hope that everyone has a happy and healthy weekend.
