Rick Challot is a former editor for the health guide Prevention, and he takes that background knowledge to create a very formidable guide to home remedies and folklore cures. This book is very easy to read and is designed for average people. I especially liked the side bars that were both informative and fun to read. I learned much by reading this light hearted book. There are tons of helpful tips for over 100 types of pain that is discussed. I mean, did you know that power tools can sometimes trigger a Raynauld’s syndrome flare? I didn’t either.
This book weighs in at 496 pages and is priced at $29.95. Pricey but would be great to get via a used book seller or just rent at your local library. There are nine sections to the book ranging from head pain, to hands, chest, back, and nether regions. There is also a “Pain Anywhere” section that I found to contain more things guided toward the chronic pain sufferer.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and find myself grabbing it to look up little things from time to time that I have forgotten. A great little reference guide, The Anti Pain Plan can really offer much to patients everywhere.
